THE CHALLENGE: The scope of the present project is the design and development of portable portable weighing system, powered by self-generating energies independent of the electrical network.

WHAT DOES THE RESEARCH CONSIST OF?

The integration of the components will be one of the main technological challenges that arise since there is a compromise between the power that the energy recovery system must provide and the consumption of the weighing system.

The power value orders achieved to date are not sufficient for feeding a conventional dynamic weighing system. Therefore, it will be necessary to develop the weighing system in such a way that the necessary power of operation is minimized as well as the development of an energy recovery system through the vibrations produced in the railroads. Maximize the sufficient power of operation based on the results of the REVIFE1 project.

EXPECTED RESULTS

The dynamic weighing systems are capable of weighing wagons at a speed of about 8km / h, but these speeds compromise the energy that can be recovered from the railroad tracks when the train passes, giving rise to few power values.

By increasing the speed of wagon weights to maximize energy recovery, vibrations could distort the measurement of the weight performed.

Therefore, the objective is to guarantee the optimum speed of weighing so that energy recovery can be produced through the railways, in addition to guaranteeing a correct weighing value with a lower energy consumption than that generated during the passage of the train.
