CHALLENGE: The development of libraries and plates to replace MiniPLC for a more specific and cheaper product in the control and monitoring of sensors and field actuators in railway sites.
HOW WAS THE RESEARCH? In the creation of an ‘ad hoc’ device for the replacement and optimization of sensors for very specific applications, together with the communication and control posts.
EXPECTED RESULTS: The project, called ‘Peripheral’, intends to use the extensive market of programmable plates and SOCs for the customization of platforms. Therefore, a proprietary system is being developed that focuses only on the functionalities required for a specific application area. This would minimize costs compared to commercial equipment that includes functionalities
